Richard Del Toro Elected Sheriff of St. Lucie County: Campaign Led by John Carvelli Secures Landslide Victory
Congratulations to Richard Del Toro elected as the next Sheriff of St. Lucie County, Fla. Two years ago, John Carvelli, founder of Carvelli & Associates was contracted as the campaign manager for the Del Toro for Sheriff campaign
team. Carvelli had involvement in all daily matters including scheduling events, campaign strategy, working with the campaign core team, campaign data analysis, volunteer recruitment, budgeting, messaging and marketing. Over 100 volunteers served on the campaign team and the campaign prevailed in the August 2024 Republican Primary with a 62% percent win over two other Republican candidates. The November 2024 General election was also a success with a nearly 24,000 vote margin over the Democrat candidate. Good Luck to Sheriff Richard Del Toro as he starts hisnew role in January 2025.

Bradenton Classical K-12 Academy Set to Make History as Florida's First Charter School Approved by State Commission
Manatee, County, Fla. Congratulations to Bradenton Classical K-12 Academy Founder Sherri Davidson and her Governing Board. On November 21, 2024, Ms. Davidson and her team are scheduled to be the FIRST charter school in Florida to be approved by the Florida State Commission for Charter Schools. Carvelli & Associates, LLC had the pleasure to work with Ms. Davidson and her Governing Board by writing the Bradenton Classical charter school feasibility study and occupancy projection justifications. Best wishes to Bradenton Classical K-12 Academy as they begin their journey to open in August, 2026.

Carvelli & Associates Conducts Statewide Study of Florida's
Top-Performing Charter Schools
For April to June, 2024, the Florida Charter Institute contracted with Carvelli & Associates to conduct a statewide best practices study of Florida's top-performing charter schools. Florida Charter Institute provided the top-performing charter schools and Carvelli & Associates assisted by designing and administering a 36 question online survey to collect a variety of information about the state's charter school demographics, school themes, academic practices, tutoring and remediation, goal setting, strategic planning, and a variety of questions about the "Impactfulness " of best practices at each charter school. Interest in participating was very high and Carvelli & Associates achieved a 72% response rate from the statewide top-performing charter schools. A full report of the survey findings and analysis was prepared by Carvelli & Associates for the Florida Charter Institute.

Olympus International K-8 Celebrates 14% Grade Improvement, Thanks to Carvelli & Associates' Support
Carvelli & Associates is happy to announce that Olympus International K-8 in Boca Raton , Fla made a 14% gain in their total school grade for the 2023-24 school year, based on the state of Florida school grading formula. For the 2023-24 school year, Carvelli & Associates worked with the charter school on training the academic coaches, conducted classroom walkthroughs, assisted with student data analysis and schoolwide goal setting. Professional development was also provided. In November of 2023, Carvelli & Associates, LLC worked with the School District of Palm Beach County and Olympus K-8 administrators to negotiate a 10 year contract renewal.

MU Men's Baseball Team
Dumfries, Va. The Marymount University , Arlington, Va. (MU) Men’s Baseball team held a golf tournament fundraiser at Potomac Shores Golf Club. Funds were raised to help the MU Baseball fund travel plans and team equipment, Carvelli & Associates, LLC were proud sponsors and helped to plan the team’s second annual event. Many coaches, players, parents , and supporters showed up for the event and had a great time!

Florida Charter School Conference
Carvelli and Associates Teacher Development Consultant , Lisa Helfrich, was invited to present at the Florida Charter School Conference in Orlando, Fl.
Forty people attended the highly popular session titled “ Now That We Have Them - How Do We Keep Them” . Lisa and her team presented on teacher retention, mentoring strategies, Florida Teacher certification, and training requirements. The team conducted an interactive presentation where attendees were able to brainstorm, learn from peers, and have their questions addressed.

Congratulations to the St. Lucie County, Fl. Humane Society. on another successful fundraiser to help local dogs and cats! Nearly 90 citizens , business owners, and
animal lovers participated in 2022 annual golf tournament at The Saints Golf Course in Port St. Lucie, Fl. The event had more prizes than ever before and Carvelli and Associates were a proud sponsor and participant at the October 1, 2022 event.

The Florida Department of Education released school grades on July 7, 2022, revealing that American Classical Charter Academy (ACCA) of St. Cloud posted outstanding results. For the 2021-22 school year, ACCA improved in every single reading, math, and science category it was tested in compared to 2020-21. This year ACCA was tested in eight out of eight academic areas and posted a school grade of a “B” – with 485 points earned at 61 %- just one percentage point from an “A” rating, up from last year’s score of 33 %. In all eight of the state of Florida school grade rating categories Reading, Math, Science, and Civics, ACCA out-paced the Osceola County School District by a total of 97 points – four of the eight categories by double digits.

According to FLDOE, schools statewide exceeded expectations, with the 2021-22 grades marking the first full school grade data released since 2019. Some highlights: Fifty-three schools exited the school improvement support list in 2022, all schools graded ‘F’ in 2019 improved their grades in 2022, and 84% of schools graded ‘D’ and ‘F’ in 2019 improved grades in 2022. Statewide, the biggest gains were seen in elementary schools, where 1 in 5 schools improved by at least one letter. Click here to access all the school grades.

Carvelli & Associates Makes Donation to Somerset College Prep Career Academy
Carvelli and Associates is proud to provide donations and support Somerset College Prep’s Career Academy, which begins July 14, 2022. Students will be receiving instruction in a variety of trades including carpentry, welding and plumbing. Somerset College Prep is a State of Florida “A” Rated Charter School based in St. Lucie County, Florida.
